A Short Story
Instead of shape-changing into a beautiful creature, Jawko has been stuck between the forms of boy and beast since birth. Labeled by everyone in his village as “misshapen.” He’s used to his life as an outcast though, only a shadow that slips in and out of their lives. Never seen, and never known.
When he discovers a little girl in danger however, he suddenly finds himself the only one willing to go down and grab her before it’s too late. He must decide between hiding safely in the shadows …
Or exposing himself to everyone who curses his name in order to save her.

A Novel
Fox refuses to be chosen. When the powerful Water Beast calls her as his next Sage of Waters, to be a healer and a leader of the hidden jungle village that he guards, she does everything she can to run from it. After all, how can she be a light when she’s the reason her family is gone?
Terrified of hurting those she loves with the powers she must receive, and desperate to find peace in a slowly darkening world, Fox escapes on an epic journey into the wild Jungle Lands along with a few misfit friends. They will find that nothing is what it seems, as well as discover the one person determined to release a living, breathing nightmare into their lands once again.
Yet when hope is but a tiny, flickering flame against the dark, she finds that her family may not be as broken as she thinks. Having to decide between protecting others with her life or stepping into a destiny she never wanted, Fox knows there is no turning back from what she must do. And she will find that the coming darkness has more to do with her than she could ever imagine.

What kinds of stories do I write?
The genres I write are YA epic fantasy and dystopian! I love stories driven by broken characters desperately trying to find the light in their world. The adventure in my stories centers around the journey and growth of the characters I create, exploring themes and truths that we struggle with in our everyday lives.
As I’ve gotten older and dipped into the world of young adult fiction, I’ve grown to love the characters, emotions, and the voice that comes with that storytelling. Yet many YA novels I read seem to be missing so much of the light, hope, and humor of a middle grade novel. The more I’ve read, I more I’ve realized how much I wanted stories that bridged this gap.
I wanted stories that still acknowledge the dark while lighting a way through it with fun, quirky characters. If you want the same thing, then my stories are for you!
